The Killers

The Killers kicked off their performance at Lollapalooza with “The Man” from their new album, Wonderful Wonderful. According to comments on their recent instagram posts (@thekillers) you’ll see that the audience thought their concert was also quite wonderful. Maybe even so wonderful you’d have to say it twice. Comments included “Seeing you live was a dream come true”, “U fucked me up in the good way”, and “you had me in awe the entire time”. Wow.

Okay, so we all know that their performance was great. But some of us don’t know about how The Killers came to be. In 2001, Brandon Flowers was kicked out of the band, Blush Response. At the time this was probably disappointing, however he didn’t know this would lead him on a new path to becoming one of the greatest rock bands of the 21st century. Soon after he left the band he went to an Oasis concert where he left feeling inspired to create rock music. He began searching for others with similar ideas and before long he came across Dave Keuning, a guitarist posted in the newspaper. They shared their interests and ideas and pretty soon they were writing songs in Keuning’s basement. And so The Killers were born.

Overtime they picked up some band members (and lost some). The current members are Brandon Flowers, Dave Keuning, Mark Stoermer, and Ronnie Vannucci Jr. Together, their hard work resulted in being listed in Billboard’s top charts many, many times.  The band went on several tours including Hot Fuss Tour (2004-2005), Sam’s Town Tour (2006-2007), Day & Age World Tour (2008-2009), Battle Born World Tour (2012-2013), and currently the Wonderful Wonderful Tour (2017-2018).
